Santa Rosa High School is steeped in tradition. We were the 9th high school chartered in California, and this community's only public high school from 1874 until 1958. The campus has a picturesque "Ivy League" look with separate classroom buildings and much of the open space in lawn or plantings. Santa Rosa High School is Sonoma County's high school of choice, with 50% of its present student body of approximately 2000 comprised of students who come from outside the schools attendance boundaries.

Santa Rosa High School is an academic leader, having had for nine consecutive years the district's highest SAT scores. Santa Rosa High School has a high API rating of 796 for 2010 making 4 straight years of increasing scores. In 2008, 86% who took the AP tests, passed and received college credit. Free on campus tutoring is available through the Santa Rosa Volunteer Center and we have free SAT Prep available.

Santa Rosa High School is home of the renowned ArtQuest program. This district supported program, with specialty course work in Visual Fine Arts, Dance, Drama, Instrumental and Vocal Music, and Multimedia/Video was recently awarded the Golden Bell Award sponsored by the CSBA.
