Home of the Panthers
En Espanol:Since 1874, SRHS has been dedicated to academic excellence and providing a complete educational experience for the community. Sprawling over 44 acres with 2,000 students in the center of charming "Old Santa Rosa," SRHS looks more like an Ivy League university than a high school. Its architecture has long been a community landmark, symbolizing a sense of tradition to its students and alumni.
In May of 2015, Santa Rosa High School received recognition as a California Gold Ribbon School. In April of 2011, the State Superintendent announced that SRHS was selected as a California Distinguished School and given the Exemplary Career Technical Education Program Award. He stated that SRHS is "being recognized for attaining high levels of performance and sustained growth, and for making a significant progress in closing the academic achievement gap. They have succeeded despite a bleak economic environment and have endeavored to maintain their momentum and focus. Becoming a Distinguished School is a direct reflection of the dedication, hard work, and vision of each school's education community." Only 5 schools in the state earned both honors and we are shown to be among the top 3% of California schools.
Santa Rosa High School is home of the renowned ArtQuest program. This district supported program, with specialty course work in Visual Fine Arts, Dance, Drama, Instrumental and Vocal Music, and Multimedia/Video was recently awarded the Golden Bell Award sponsored by the CSBA.
