Accountability Documents

These are the documents that are required to be made public of every public school for public review.

School Accountability Report Card

By February 1 of each year, every school in California is required by state law to publish a School Accountability Report Card (SARC).The SARC contains information about the condition and performance of each California public school. Under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) all local educational agencies (LEAs) are required to prepare a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), which describes how they intend to meet annual school-specific goals for all pupils, with specific activities to address state and local priorities. Additionally, data reported in an LCAP is to be consistent with data reported in the SARC.

  • For more information about SARC requirements, see the California Department of Education (CDE) SARC Web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/ac/sa/.
  • For more information about the LCFF or LCAP, see the CDE LCFF Web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/aa/lc/.
  • For additional information about the school, parents/guardians, and community members should contact the school principal or the district office.

Comprehensive Safety Plan

All California public schools kindergarten and grades one through twelve must develop a comprehensive school safety plan, per California Education Code sections 32280-32289 External link opens in new window or tab.

Western Association of Schools And Colleges (WASC)

The WASC report is an outside review of our school that is done every six years or earlier based upon evidence of student achievement. In order to be an accreditted academic institution, every public school must submit to this review.

Single School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA)

The Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) is a plan of actions to raise the academic performance of all students. California Education Code sections 41507, 41572, and 64001 and the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) require each school to consolidate all school plans for programs funded through the ConApp and ESEA Program Improvement into the SPSA.

Instructions from the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) template state that school-specific goals related to the state and local priorities from the SPSA should be aligned and incorporated with the district’s LCAP. Furthermore, to facilitate alignment between school-site and district-level goals and actions, the LCAP should be shared with, and input requested from, school site-level advisory groups, as applicable.
