Textbook Distribution & Picture Day

Dear Panther Families:

We hope this email finds you well. We hope that you have had a smooth start to your year during this chaotic time. Although we would love a traditional start to the school year, especially for picture day and handing textbooks, the current pandemic situation has provided us with yet another opportunity for creativity. This year we will be hosting a “drive-through” distribution. Below you will find some detailed information, including specific times and locations with a map and description. We will adhere to all safety protocols as outlined by Sonoma County Public Health. Our staff will be wearing masks, practicing social distancing guidelines, and wearing gloves when appropriate. We hope this information will answer any questions your family has regarding photos and textbooks. If you have other questions, please contact Casey Shannon, Assistant Principal, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Drive Through Entrance:
Please enter the student parking lot off of Ridgeway Ave. From there, you follow a route through the student parking lot to the South Gym. Once at the South Gym, you will exit your vehicle and take your school picture. You will re-enter the car and make your way toward the library using the road that takes you by Never’s field and towards the staff parking lot. In the staff parking lot, you will stop at the entrance to the library where students will exit the vehicle and pick up their textbooks at the library entrance. Students will get back in their car and exit southbound on Mendocino Ave.

Students who attend the event on foot will follow a similar path entering the student parking lot, stopping at the South Gym, walking towards the library, and exiting on Mendocino Ave.

Frequently Asked Questions

● What kind of safety protocols will be in place during the drive-through distribution?
○ All Santa Rosa High School staff/workers will be wearing the appropriate personal protective
equipment to ensure a safe registration environment. We ask families to wear the appropriate
items as well.

● How long should the process take?
○ The process for registration this year might be a bit slower than in previous years as we need to get pictures and textbooks for each student, but we are hoping to have families through
the drive-through line as soon as possible.

● What if we miss our designated distribution time?
○ Please feel free to come by during another date or time of distribution. If you cannot make it to
any of the days September 8 through 11, please contact the school to arrange a separate pick-up of the items you need.

● What if we already took our picture at Freshman Orientation?
○ Many Freshmen have already had their school pictures taken. They will need to follow the same drive-thru route on the map, but they will not exit their car at the South Gym. They will continue to drive-thru towards the library.
